E-invoicing has become mandatory in Germany: B2B companies have had to be able to receive e-invoices since 2025, and the obligation to issue them follows in stages. cayZugferd turns your abas invoice data into compliant e-invoices — XRechnung (the German e-invoicing standard) and ZUGFeRD — without an abas update and without touching your customizing.
cayZugferd picks the data up where it already lives — and turns it into what tax authorities and customers demand.
cayZugferd generates XRechnung 3.0 as CII XML according to EN 16931:2017 — and ZUGFeRD as PDF/A-3 with embedded XML, Ghostscript-based. For delivery to public-sector customers, the Leitweg-ID routing identifier is on board as well.
Invoice header, line items, customer, company, tax rates — everything comes through the abas REST API. Nothing changes in your customizing, and nothing changes in your abas version either. More than 30 unit mappings automatically translate abas units into UN/ECE codes.
Every invoice runs through the internal validator with XSD and Schematron checks. If you want it official, you can additionally enable the KoSIT reference validator — the same tool public-sector customers use to check incoming invoices.
The raw abas data of every invoice is stored as JSON. If something is off, the invoice can be reprocessed from the capsule — for error analysis, without any access to your live system. We see exactly what abas delivered.
Delivered like everything from cayol — as a Docker container on your own infrastructure.
cayZugferd runs on-premise on your existing infrastructure. Your invoice data never leaves the building — there simply is no cloud it could wander off to.
Delivery includes a web-based configuration interface: setup happens in the browser, not in configuration files on the console.
A new version means: pull the new image, restart the container, done. The source code stays with cayol — you operate a maintained product, not one-off code.
Receiving has been mandatory since 2025, the obligation to issue arrives in stages: cayZugferd makes existing abas installations e-invoice-ready without forcing you to jump to a new abas version.
cayZugferd grew out of a customer project and delivers real invoices today — among others at the data center operator telemaxx in Karlsruhe.
How a data center operator uses cayZugferd to turn its abas invoices into compliant e-invoices — the whole story as a case study.
Goods receipt, picking, stock transfers and shop floor data capture on the handheld scanner — the screens are defined by your abas infosystem, not the app.
A demo with real formats says more than any feature list. We'll show cayZugferd live — and answer the uncomfortable questions while we're at it.
